The sound track of the 1960’s 'Twilight Zone' episode "The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street", is the basis for the Video-Performance. A miniature Maple Street has been built and can be looked into directly by the spectator or viewed on a TV screen through the eye of the camera filming the action. In front of an audience and in real time Maple Street comes alive. The protagonists are dolls from toy shops and flea markets. Without any expression on their faces, the characters take on the original words from the episode. A cardboard world becomes alive. Dolls seem to transform into humans and subsequently turn into monsters. Monsters that can possibly be found within all of us. The fear of the stranger makes everything irrational.
